How Do I Grow My Intention?
Welcome to the beginning of a mindful journey with your very own seedling kit. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to cultivate not just a plant, but also your intentions. Let’s get started!
🌱 Unboxing Your Kit First things first, let’s make sure you have all the goodies:
- 2 seeds (just in case-or to grow another!)
- Seed starting bag and towel
- Nutrient-rich soil
- A charming bonsai pot
- A handy tray to save your furniture
- 5 Magical charms
- 2 Intention tags for your thoughts
- 3 Sparkling crystal chips
- 2 18 “ Pieces of decorative metal wire
- 1 polished stone to anchor your intentions

🌱 Planting Your Seed of Intention
- Set aside the seeds, paper towel, and zip lock bag.
- Moisten the paper towel lightly—no dripping allowed!
- Place a seed in the center, fold the towel gently, and seal it in the bag.
- Find a cozy, dark spot for your seed to rest for 36-48 hours. Peek after that; if it’s shy, give it another day. You’re looking for the seedling to have a tiny tail popping out of the shell.
🌱 Preparing the Pot
- Choose your wire for future plant training.
- Flip the pot, thread the wire through, and let it rest along the edges.
- If the soil feels dry, a teaspoon of water will do. Shake to moisten.
- Fill the pot with soil, make a tiny home for your seed, and tuck it in tail-down.
🌱 Caring for Your Growing Intention
- Keep the soil around the seed moist for the first few days.
- Once your green friend emerges, water only when the soil feels dry.
- A sunny spot with a gentle breeze is perfect for your seedling’s home.
- As it grows, use the wire to guide its shape, adding charms and stones along the way.
🌱 Watching Your Intention Flourish
- In 4-6 weeks, you’ll see your plant hit its ‘teen’ phase. This is the time to start using the wire to hold and shape your plant.
- By 10-12 weeks, it’s all grown up!
- Cut it down, and release what no longer serves you.
Remember, neither Ruderalis nor hemp plants regrow. Once it blooms and shows off its fall colors, it’s reached maturity.
So you bought a plant and wonder what did you just get yourself into???
It's OK! We're here to help. Below are our most common questions and answers. If you need more help, send an email to angie@growingwithintention.net
🌱Does my plant need sun?
Yes! All cannabis needs light, a south facing window will do. In the Chicagoland area (and our neighbors) it gets overcast, so a supplemental light is recommended in the winter months. If you don't have a window with at least 8 hours of bright light, you can purchase our plant light with a shelf. There are also light bulbs for plants you can screw into most traditional fixtures. Hemp needs bright light to flourish!
🌱How often do I water?
Generally, 1-2 times a week, At first only 1/4 cup of water. Increase gradually to 1/3, then 1/2 cup. Your homes temperature and humidity will affect the frequency. When it's a seedling, only water the area around the plant. As the plant grows, feel the soil between waterings to make sure it's dry. If you pick up your pot every day, you'll get muscle memory and you'll quickly know if it's wet or dry. Overwatering and underwatering look similar at first. An overwatered plant that gets more water will drown. Cannabis and ruderalis like to dry out between waterings.
🌱What else can I do for my plant to keep her healthy?
Plants love humidity, and hemp is no exception. You can use a small humidifier in the room your plant is in. 50% humidity is great-but not easy to maintain. Keep her closer to the unit and she'll get the most humidified air. Also, plants need food. Hemp is a hungry eater, we recommend liquid fertilizer like Fox Farms.
🌱How will I know my plant is ready for harvest?
The same biological reaction that causes trees leaves to change in the fall happens in cannabis. The leaves change colors and drop off the plant, the bud hairs are orange or purple. If you have a magnifying lens (some cameras on zoom are strong enough) look at the flowers for tiny little mushroom shaped glands. They’re called trichomes. They will have 3 colors as the plant ages. Most people prefer to harvest when trichomes are cloudy with a small amount turning amber.
Clear-this is early in the maturation, if harvested now plants tend to have a more sativa-like effects, terpenes are not as developed.
Cloudy-this is considered the ideal time for hybrid type effects. Terpenes are well developed.
Amber-waiting to harvest until most trichomes are amber will generally lead to more sleepy effects.
🌱Will it rebloom?
No, all varieties of cannabis are annual. Annual means you must replant yearly.
🌱How much can I expect to harvest?
Remember, this isn’t meant for consumption. Autoflowers don’t produce much in comparison to photoperiod plants. Also, plant stay small in a small pot.
Commercial production uses special lights, tents, fans, etc. This run is meant to be personally purposeful. That being said, yield is anywhere between 1/8th and 1 oz.
🌱How do I harvest?
Remove leaves from the plant, cut the plant off where the stem meets the soil. Place in a cool dark place with 50%-60% humidity. It's so small, it should dry in just a few days. Remove the buds from the stems, place in a jar or cure bag for 7-10 days. Open the container once daily to 'burp' any gases.
🌱 Harvesting Your Intention When the time comes, harvest your plant, cherish the growth, and start anew with your second seed.
Don’t forget, this is more than just planting; it’s about setting intentions for growth, care, and the energy you want to bring into your space. Enjoy the process and watch your intentions come to life! 🌿✨
